Many modern cheap EasyCaps use the Somagic chipset. The native Windows 10/11 driver for this is often buggy. The solution is to use a legacy driver from a trusted source.

Most counterfeit or generic EasyCAPs use the STK1160. The drivers available for these chips were written for Windows XP, Vista, and 7. Windows 11 requires drivers to be digitally signed by Microsoft (Hardware Quality Labs - WHQL). The old EasyCAP drivers are not WHQL-certified, and Windows 11 will reject them unless you disable driver signature enforcement. Many modern cheap EasyCaps use the Somagic chipset
