Freshly Ground was formed in 1993 in Cape Town, South Africa. The band's original members were Julian Bergman (bass), Adam Hart (guitar), Michael Buchanan (drums), and vocalist Shelley-Ann Taylor. In 1998, vocalist Jill Scott joined the band, bringing a new era of success and creativity.
