In Sonic & Knuckles alone, collecting all Chaos Emeralds just gives you Super Sonic. Nice, but expected. In Sonic 3 & Knuckles , after you get all 7 Chaos Emeralds… you unlock another 7 . That means 14 special stages (Blue Spheres hell). And the reward? Hyper Sonic —a screen-clearing, sparkle-trail-leaving, double-jumping god of destruction. Hyper Knuckles can crack walls just by gliding into them. Hyper Tails? Exists. That extra layer is absent in the standalone S&K . sonicknuckleswsonic3bin better
