Al-Baghawi, also known as al-Husayn ibn Masud ibn Muhammad al-Baghawi al-Fassi, was a prominent Islamic scholar and mufassir (exegete) of the Quran. Born in the 11th century CE (5th century AH) in the city of Nishapur, Persia (modern-day Iran), al-Baghawi was a student of the famous Quranic scholar, al-Thalabi.
