The story follows a group of National Guard trainees who are sent on a routine mission to deliver equipment to a remote research camp in the New Mexico desert (Sector 16). However, they soon discover the camp is deserted. They quickly realize they are being hunted by the same clan of mutated cannibals that terrorized the Carter family in the first film.
